Curriculum
In the study of higher mathematics, physics and other basic theoretical knowledge, as well as humanities and social sciences, management science and foreign languages, based on the following professional core courses: engineering drawing, engineering mechanics, principles of mechanics, mechanical design, mechanical control engineering fundamentals, mechanical engineering testing technology, mechanical engineering technology, mechanical manufacturing technology, tolerance and technical measurements, engineering materials and molding technology, modern manufacturing technology, electromechanical transmission and control, Hydraulic Transmission and Control, Mechatronics System Design. The program also offers innovative and practical courses in innovation and entrepreneurship, experimental skills, mechanical system design, and scientific research methods.
Cultivation Characteristics
Since China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) resumed its undergraduate program in Mechanical engineering for more than 20 years, it has trained a large number of high-quality talents with background in mechanical engineering, especially mining machinery, serving in the fields of engineering, science and technology, management and education. The total number of undergraduate graduates has reached nearly 2,000, and the educational level and quality of personnel training have been widely praised by the society. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has remained above 99%, and about 90 students are enrolled every year.
Teaching staffs
The discipline of "Mechanical Design and Theory" which the mechanical engineering major relies on is the national key discipline and the first-level doctoral discipline of "Mechanical Engineering". At present, the major has 34 teachers, including 1 academician of the Russian foreign Academy of Engineering, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 2 famous teaching teachers in Beijing, 11 professors and researchers (10 doctoral supervisors), 11 associate professors, 2 senior engineers, 8 lecturers, 1 experimentalist and 1 post-doctoral teacher; There is one excellent teaching team in Beijing, and more than 10 teachers have won the title of national and provincial talents.
In terms of practical teaching, the mechanical engineering major has 2 national engineering practice education bases, 1 Beijing level engineering practice education base, and 1 Beijing level campus mechanical innovation practice demonstration base, and employs enterprise engineering and technical personnel as part-time teachers to train engineering talents, which further improves the engineering practice ability of the professional talents.
Employment and Further Study
The 2023 graduates of the program have a higher education rate of more than 50% and an employment rate of more than 95%. After graduation, students can be employed in the first line of industry to engage in design and manufacturing, scientific and technological development, applied research, operation and management, business and sales and other related positions in various industries. At the same time, the solid basic theories for innovative talents inserted the wings of flight, but also for further study to lay the necessary foundation for the top (18%) of the outstanding graduates, exempted from the examination recommended to the University or other national key universities and scientific research institutions for further study in related disciplines.
